Steam Friends

I downloaded steam but I can't add friends. Does this mean I gotta buy something before it will let me do that? It said freebies don't count.

Do you have a steam game? ie; COD, left for Dead?

I dont think you need a Steam game to use the instant messenger...if Steam is loaded on the taskbar if you right click friends will show up....in the friends IM you can add friends there by clicking a tab...whats your name? mines metalfinger81...Cod4 is not a steam game, have you been playing it at all? what do you think? tried freeze tag yet??

When I try to add friends it won't let me. It says that feature is reserved for others until I download, activate or basically buy something.It said something about this being due to spammers and phishers. You can try adding me and see if it will let you. User name is yodaddy68. I played a little last week in a free for all server......which is exactly what it was lol.I have the freeze tag mod but have not had time to install it yet.

You shouldnt have to download anything besides joining the server like UT style...once you join the server the only thing you'll have to download is in-game user maps that come up, but like UT it does it automatically within the server.

In your favorites section of COD4, hit "New Favorite" and enter this IP - 208.167.240.52:28960.....notice the : that is the port (28960)
