I wondered across this yesterday and thought some of you might be interested. Fear has put out a multiplayer standalone based on their single player game. The single player was pretty popular so I decided to give it a try and it is not bad at all. It comes in CTF , TDM , and most importantly DM. I only played 2 maps , an office and factory of some kind the action wasn't to bad at all.All you do is put in your email and your key arrives in less than 5 minutes or at least mine did. It's totally free and there is nothing more to do. The download is 1.8 gigs so it might take a little while. Here is the link.

This may not be the 2nd coming but it has the potential to be a lot of fun. You pick a weapon at the beginning of the round and if you run out of ammo you can use it as a melee weapon and bash someones skull in , so an empty clip is not the end of the world ....or maybe it is........lol

Thanks for the info, downloading now. I played some of the single player from a friend's copy and didn't get far into it.

Single players don't do a whole lot for me , I kinda get bored after a couple of days. Half life , far cry. etc I just don't seem to have the patience or I'm just to dumb to figure it out lol I guess maybe when I'm 60 ha ha I prefer live targets.

I'm a big fan of Single player games, GTA, FC2, and Assassins Creed are among my favorites.e..I've also heard good things about FEAR 2...I think I'm gonna get COD 4 for my next game though, not sure... I heard they have freeze tag.

I downloaded it, installed it, but cant join but a few servers because it says i need the 1.08 patch, so i downloaded the patch and when i go to install it , it says it cant be installed cause i dont FEAR installed...lol....WTF, ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM????

I haven't gotten around to DL-ing it yet. Punk has COD4, he is a 2 star Gen. From what I've seen mostly kids around 9 - 18 play it. The same with COD5, he is about at the same rank there too.

I'm still looking for the 1.08 patch , all I can find is the uk full version. I have joined several servers. The ones you can't join are kinda grayed out and the ones you can are a brighter white. I'll be googling some more later on. Guess I haven't asked the right question yet.

I looked all over gamershell for that dang US patch. It was the first link I went to. Don't know how I missed that.....I must be losing my mojo LOL. I knew it was the right one when I seen it because there is a few hundred k difference between it and the uk version. Works good too , I jumped on and off several servers in a few minutes this afternoon.
